1. end up : 결국 (어떤 상태/상황에) 이르게 되다. 

 

1) end up like :  

  - I don't want to end up like last time. : 난 지난번처럼 되고 싶진 않아. 

  - Do you want to end up like your brother? 

  - Eventually, I ended up like my mentor. 

  - If I continue to learn something new and burn midnight oil to improve my skill, I will eventually ended up like the people, who work for a short time and make a bundle than people around me.  

 

2) end up at[in] (place)

  - After the party, somehow, we all ended up at my place.  : 파티 후 어쩌다 보니 다들 우리 집에 모이게 됐어. 

  - She ended up in a hospital. 

  - The school notified that positive one was found in my child's class. So, I ended up in hospital with my children to get a check for COVID-19 test. Fortunately, he turned out negative for it. 

 

3) end up with (s/t)

  - After I sold all (of) my equipment, I ended up with close to 1 million won. : 장비를 다 팔고 나니 100만원 남았어.

  - If you're not careful, you could end up with nothing. : 잘못하면 다 잃을 수도 있어. 

  - In previous company, I worked hard like a dog, but I couldn't makea bundle due to low salary. But I ended up with lots of experience and high self-esteem for my job.

 

4) end up -ing : ~을 하는 상황/상태에 이르다. 

  - We tried to fix it but we just ended up starting all over again. : 고치려 했는데 그냥 처음부터 다시 시작하게 됐어.

  - I was supposed to learn French next month, but I just ended up learning English by this year.
