생활 필수 표현 - 032. 이유/목적 - because / since / as / in order to / so that / due to

1. because (of) : ~ 때문에

2. since   : 어떤 사실을 상대방도 인지하거나 인지하고 있을거라고 예상

  - Hey, since we wear the same size, how about we share our clothes?

3. due to : ~로 인해 (좀더 formal, 직결되는 원인과 결과)

4. in order (for s/o) to : ~하기 위해서

  - I turned on my computer (in order) to check my email. 

  - I turned on my computer because I needed/wanted to check my email. 

  - In order for me to help you, I need all the information. (I need all the information in order for me to help you.)

    = You need to give me all the information in order for me to help you. 

    = You need to give me all the information if you want me to help you. [if you want my help]

5. so that : 주어 재설정

  - I gave her some advice so (that) she could make a good decision. 

  - I gave her some advice in order for her to make a good decision. 

 

6. as : because / since 보다 훨씬 formal함. 주로 구어체보다는 문어체 혹은 발표문 등에 사용

  - As this is Jane's last day, we're going to have a farewell pary after work. 

 

 

저 모임에 못나갈 것 같아요.	I don't think I can make it to the gathering. I'm afraid i can't join the party.
그날 집 수리를 좀 하기로 했거든요.	I'm having some repairs done at my place that day. because I'm going to repair my house a little.
지난 주 태풍 때문에 집 곳곳에 망가진 곳이 좀 있어요	There's some damage around the house, due to the hurricane last week,  There is some damages in the house since the typoon of last week.
근데 다음 주가 연휴니까 그 전에 해결을 해야 될 것 같아서요	Since next week is a holiday week, I figured I should take care of it before then.  I thought i have to solve this issues before next week of holiday.    - I figured I should : ~해야 할 것 같았어.   - take care of : 처리하다 / 해결하다
미리 얘기를 안한 것은 언제가 될지 확실하지 않았어요	The reason I didn't tell you earlier was because me that is (that) I wasn't sure when it was going to be  it was not fixed when to do.
저 때문에 취소하거나 그러진 말고요	I don't want you to cancel or antyhing because of me.  Please don't cancel the party because of me.
혹시 수리가 일찍 끝나면 합류할 수 있게 어디서 만나는지 알려주세요	But let me know where you're hanging out so (that) I can join you guys if the repairs (happen to) finish early.  Please let me know the location to go there in case I can finish the repair early.
