1	All along	The whole time . I was playing hide-and-seek with my son, Jason. I couldn’t find him anywhere. He was hiding under his bed all along. . He stayed up all night last night. So, he couldn’t concentrate the English class all along. . She felt very tired. Eventually, she slept today all along.
2	To freak out	To lose  control emotionally / strong emotional reaction (position / negative) . I really didn’t study for my exam. That’ why I failed. I think my parents are going to freak out when I break the news to them. . I got the highest mark in my class at graduation! I can’t wait to tell my parents. They’re going to freak out! . Habs eventually won Leafs in 20-21 playoff of NHL. I freaked out. Habs obtained 2 score during 2-period.   *freak : different/strange
3	First things first	Most important steps/things first . Welcome to class. Before we begin, I want us to get acquainted. First things first, what are your name and where do you come from? . 4	A work in progress	Something that is still not completely finished or perfect . I’m still learning English. I continue to improve every year but it’s still a work in progress. . 2hours ago, I started to cook Lobster but, it’s still a work in progress.
5	Cut it out	Stop it (but, you need context) . a) Nick! You are the best teacher we ever had.         b) Oh, come on guys. Cut it out! . Yesterday, I felt tired. So, when my kids were chatting loudly, I said “cut it out.”
6	Chill out	Relax, calm down (if angry) . Tonight, I’m going to stay home and chill out with my kids while we watch the game. . Today, MTL won TOR ice hockey team. All Quebecers were excited. But I remembered ice hockey riot in 2011. They need to chill out.
