1. Did you get a chance to ...?  ~을 할 기회가 있었나요? / 공손한 표현  <-- --> Did you do s.t. ...

  - Did you get a chance to look at my email ? 

  - Did you get a chance to send the files ?      (Did you send the files? X) 

  - Did you get a chance to sign the contract ? 

  - Di you get a chance to check my email ? 

 

 2. Could you update us on ... ? / Could you give us an update on ... ?  ...의 최근 소식, 정보를 알려줄 수 있어요? 

  - Could you update us on the project ? 

  - Could you update us on the situation regarding ... ? 

  - Could you update us on the status of the .... ? 

  - Could you update us on the current state of ... ? 

 

3. Do you have any update on... ? ...에 관한 최근 소식, 정보 있나요? 

  - (Do you have) any update on the negotiation? 

 

4. Could you clarify ... ?  ...을 명확하게 설명해 줄 수 있나요? 

  - I'm not sure I fully understand your question. Could you clarify that  a little (bit) ? 

  - Could you clarify the last part of your question? 

  - Could you clarify that last sentence for me? 

  - Could you clarify what you mean by that ? 

  - I'm sorry. Let me clarify. 

 

5. What are your thoughts on ... ? ...에 대해서 어떻게 생각하세요? <- -> What is your opinion ? 

  - What are your thoughts on this ? 

  - What are your thoughts on our plan? 

  - (Do you have) any thoughts? / Any question or thoughts ?

 

6. In the process of (doing s.t.) ... : ... 을 하는 중이다. 

  - We're in the process of developing a new product. <- -> We're developing a new product. 

  - We're still in the process of negotiating. 

  - I'm still in the process of preparing the report for this project.  

  - We've collected the data and we're in the process of analyzing it now.  

 

7. You would have to ... : ...을 해야 할 것이다. (~해야 한다의 정중한 표현)

  - You would have to speak to him about that. 

  - You would have to make an appointment to see him. 

  - You would have to file [make] a request to do that. 

  - I would have to think about it. 

  - I woudl have to get back to you on that. 

 

8. I would say ... : ... 제 의견은, 제 생각은, 제가 보기에는...  <-- --> in my opinion

  - I would say about a thousand. 

  - I would say about one or two weeks. 

  - I woudl say he's right. 

  - I would say this is that best option. 

 

9. be short on time : 시간이 부족하다, 촉박하다

  - I'm short on cash.  - 현금이 부족하다

  - We're short on time, so let's get started.  / We're short on time, so let's get this meeting started. 

  - We're short on time, so i'll be brief. 

  - We're running a little short on time so let's move onto our next item. 

 

 

 

 

14. It would be great if you could... = If you could V..., that would be great. 

  - It would be great if you could send it to me by tomorrow.

  - It would be great if you could review it as soon as you can. 

  - It would be great if we could meet tomorrow morning. 

  - If you could speak closer to the mic, that would be great. 

  - If you could get it [this] done by friday, that would be great. 

 

15. Do you have anything to add ... = 덧붙일 말 있나요? 

  - Is there anything you would like to add ? (more formal) 

  - I just want to add something very quickly.  : 간단히 한마디 덧붙이고 싶습니다. 

  - Could I just add one thing ? : 한마디만 해도 될까요? 

 

16. When do you expect ... : 언제 ... 할것으로 예상하나요 ?

  - When do you expect to make a decision ?  / When do you expect the President to make a decision? 

  - When do you expect your review of that policy to be completed ? 

  - When do you expect him back ? 

 

  - When should I expect s.t / to do s.t : 언제 ...할 것으로 보면 될까요? 

  - When should I expect to hear from you? 

  - When should I expect to get an answer from you? 

  

17. make a note : (기억하기 위해) 메모하다, 적어 두다. 

  - I'll make a note of it. 

  - I'll make a note in my calendar.

  - Make a note to send him a card. 

  - I'll make a note to call him in the morning. 

  - Please make a note to attend that session at 3:20.

 

18. have s.t. in mind : ~을 염두해 두다, 생각해 두다, 원하다

  - What color do you have in mind ? 

  - What price range do you have in mind? 

  - Do you have a specific place in mind ? 

  - I don't have anyting particular in mind. =  I have nothing particular in mind. 

 

19. have s.t to do ...  

  - I'll have my assistance send it to you right away. 

  - I'll have James walk you through the process. : ~에 대하여 처음부터 끝까지 차근차근 설명해주다.

  - I'll have someone pick you up at the airport. 

  - I'll have someone look into it. : 그 문제에 대해서 조사해 보라고 할께요

  - I'll have him call you back. : 당신에게 전화하라고 그에게 알려줄꼐요

  - Could you have him call me back ?
