used to

1. 사람 + used to + V : ...하곤 했었다. (지금은 그렇지 않음)

  - I used to have a cup of coffee when i woke up in the morning.

  - I used to live in Korea, but now i live in Canada.

  - I used to wear a pair of boots in winter. 

  - I used to climb a mountain in Autumn. 

  - I used to use excel  macro to calculate the engine performance. But, now I use in-house program to save my time. 

 

2. 사람 + be used to + 명사[V-ing] : ... 하는데 익숙하다

  - I was not familiar with stop signs in Canada. But now, I am used to all the traffic signals.

  - I am not used to the cold weather in Canada.

  - I am used to giving waiter some tip in restaurant. 

 

3. 사물 + be used to + V : ...하는데 (사물이) 사용되어지다.

  - That machine is used to generate pressuriezed air. 

  - His laptop is used to play game, listen to music in usual.

  - Boots are used to protect feet from cold weather.
