. I really want to buy a new car, but with the economy not doing so well, and my boss not giving me a raise, I’m not sure if I can afford one or not. I think I need to crunch some numbers to see what I can do.
. I prepared income tax refund document, and I crunched some numbers to check the amount of refund. Unfortunately, I have to pay additional tax.
 
2 Out of the question No way, Jose!
. Dad, can I borrow your new Mercedes for the weekend? I want to go to a party up north wih my friends.            Sorry son, that’s our of the question.
. One of my friends requested to borrow huge money. It was out of the question.
 
3 Worth one’s while Worth your time, effort and money
. Don’t’ forget to study all those expressions. It’s really worth your while!
. I hated that movie. I wasted two hours watching it. It wasn’t worth my while.
. Due to IoT technology, we can obtain huge measured dataset. So, I learned the methodology of big data analysis. It was absolutely worth my while! Finally I got a new job.
 
4 Sweeten the deal To make the offer more attractive by adding something sweet that the person cannot refuse
. I originally rejected the job offer that Mahmood gave me, but when he sweetened the deal by offering me Fridays off, I had no choice but to accept the offer.

5 To twist someone ‘s arm To strongly push, persuade or almost force someone to do something
. John didn’t want to come to the party with us because he had a lot of homework. We finally twisted his arm and told him that if he didn’t com with us, we would make him pay for our lunches all week!
. My wife doesn’t want to move to Canada. But I twisted her arm and persuaded her. Eventually, we moved to Canada last year and have lived here.

7 To drive a hard bargain To be a strong negotiator
. Next time I buy a used car, I’ll bring my dad with me. He really drives a hard bargain!
. He is very talkative, but he doesn’t drive a hard bargain.
 
8 To get the ball rolling To start
. Every morning in class, we get the ball rolling with some new idioms and some interesting vocabulary.
. I quit my job and learned new knowledge with experience. Finally I got a new job, and today I will get the ball rolling in new office.
