1	Up in the air	Not yet determined . I really want to go away this summer but our plans are still up in the air. . My mom really want to go to Canada to see my children. But, it’s up in the air due to C-19.
2	To be down in the dumps	Miserable, depressed . John lost his job last week and he’s really down in the dumps. . He failed the exam, lost his wallet and his girl friend dumped him. He is down in the dumps.
3	Take it the wrong way	Misinterpret, misunderstand and get offended . It’s a joke. I hope you didn’t take it the wrong way! . I was just kidding but I think he took it the wrong way. . I was supposed to send love letter to her. But I put the mail to wrong cabinet in school. I hope someone doesn’t take it the wrong way.
4	My cup of tea	My preference, something I like, enjoy, prefer . I often talk to my students about hockey but I don’t think it’s their cup of tea. . He likes soccer. But I don’t like it. My cup of tea is snowboarding.
5	To have a blast	To have a lot of fun / to have a great time . I have a really great group this semester. We’re going to learn a lot of English and have a blast in the process. . I have been to Niagara fall, it has a blast
6	Under your breath	Like a whisper to yourself – 혼잣말하다 . When the boss told John to stop slacking off, John said something nasty under his breath. He’s lucky that the boss didn’t hear it or he would have gotten canned on the spot. . My grand father is under his breath when nobody is around him.
7	There’s no accounting for taste.	There’s no way to explain why people like the things they like. They just do   . My friend George, loves putting ketchup on his salad. I would never do that, but he loves it. I guess there’s no accounting for taste.   . Some men doesn’t like sports. Some women like to play soccer. There’s no accounting for taste.
8	Have good taste (in…)	(…에 대해) 뛰어난 안목을 가지고 있다. . He has good taste in films.                          . I have good taste in painting.
9	Give it a shot	한번 해 봐! 한번 시도해 봐! . Do you have never done the bunge jump? Just give it a shot. It’s very exciting experience.  .

11	Take it easy	Chill out = calm down = relax                            진정해라. . Take it easy. Deep breathe and think about it.
12	Be of like mind	뜻이 서로 통하다. . He and I are not of like mind and cannot work together.        . We are all of like mind.
13	To have two left feet	어색하다, 서투르다, 몸치이다 . Whenever I give a presentation, I have two left feet. . He’s a great singer, but he has two left feet.
14	Have a knack for	~하는 재주가 있다. . Chris has a knack for making people feel comfortable. . James has a real knack for the piano. . I don’t have a knack for cooking like you.
