Things are looking up.

Things are starting to get better.

. Last year, many people were down in the dumps because of the quarantine and Covid-19 situation. Fortunately, after more than a year, things are starting to look up again!

To bite off more than you can chew

Attempting to do a lot more than you can physically or logically do

. A few years ago, I was teaching, working as a full-time graphic designer and managing my small photography business. With 3 little kids at home as well, I was definitely biting off more than I could chew!

  . This math class is too difficult to follow the lessons. I bit off more than I could chew. I’ll drop out.

Running around like a chicken with its head cut off

( = like a chicken without [with no] head )

running around like crazy, usually because of a stressful situation or by being very unorganized

. When I woke up late for my trip, I left as quickly as possible to get to the airport, but I forgot my passport at home! Then, I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to get home to find it and back to the airport on time! What a disaster!

. I went swimming pool with my kids. During waiting a line, I lost my kids. Back then I was running around like a chicken without head. Fortunately, I found them in 5 minutes

. We decided to pitch in and buy Juy John a new TV for his birthday.

. The people pitched in to help remove that car that was stuck in the snow.

. My mother wants to move to other area in native country even though I am not live in that country. Fortunately, my friends are willing to pitch in and help her. What a great friend!

Like pulling teeth

Something very hard to do

. Getting my kids to clean up their toys is like pulling teeth!

. Speaking in front of audience is like pulling teeth, especially for shy people.

. Changing your habit is like pulling teeth! But, it is possible, if you have a motivation.
